The other macro in FIDs favour at the moment is low interest rates.
The historically lazy option for retirees of just locking cash away in Term Deposits no longer pays its way.
Incredibly I find most 'average' people I talk to are scared of 1) the sharemarket and 2) financial advisors (unfortunately the RC showed perhaps this is somewhat deserved).
But heading to a financial advisor like FID who can passively make 4 to 7% pa is suddenly an attractive option.
FIDs high ROE of 30% and still modest PE ratio (for its EPS growth) makes it a standout amongst the funds management stocks.
A super stock in my books.
