It was a “Blind Antelope” for me up until 6pm tonight, NoBo.
As in “I had no idea”!
I saw a turtle’s head at the start and that drew me to the wood but the back half was ???
The mother-I-L was over this arvo pointing out the defects ( many many defects)and asked if it could stand on its head?
Previously it would fall over in this position but I had tweaked a few things as it progressed and when I did what the M-I-L said, it obeyed.
Looking at it from that angle I thought of a Phoenix, then I thought of it as a HC Phoenix (face down with its bum proffered to the God of the tweet).
It isn’t a finished item just yet, need to tidy up the edges of the wood, decide how I can toughen it up as being a root it’s a bit crumbly and I want to thicken up the wire work in places.
The curly tail will get some Bling but I don’t know what/how at the moment, something will speak to me maybe???
It is definitely a contender for my 3 pieces I’ll enter into the local art show ( if I finish it in time) .
Looked at the advertising on the shop community board a few days ago and first prize has doubled to a grand for my division
I doubt if I can jag back to back wins in H division but I’ll be having a heap of fun chatting to the serious types as I’m going to go to the meet and greet/ awards night
this time.
