Balamara Resources seeks to raise new funds
The Australian mining company Balarama Resources is eagerly eyeing phosphate ore in Eboinda in the south-east of Ivory Coast and is also interested in gold projects in Cameroon. But financial difficulties could well rein in its ambitions. The Australian stock market authorities have asked Balamara about a $1 million hole in its operating accounts for the first quarter of 2013. Balarama’s secretary-general, Daniel Kendall, has indicated the firm will seek to raise fresh funds in order to improve its financial position and refill its coffers for its exploration ventures.
