This is Mr Lincoln Augustus, first second cousin of Holymagiman.

&am on a bleak Kingston morning and it looks like it is going to be another rainy day today, so we have put off going up to the Blue Mountains for now. So there is time for a little reflection on little things big and small thathave come and gone.

We all had dinner at Madam Prestal Kowichaka’s house last night, and what was to be a simple meal turned out to be something far from simple. It all began when Mr Kowachica invited us over for a meal, but forgot to tell his good wife. So, amidst great discordant discourse and a constant bickering, Madam Kowichaka rustled up a very mean spitited carrot soup for us.

Nothing very fancy, and if I may be permitted to comment, it all appeared to be going very badly. So we sat there in discomfort, realizing that we were in a position we would most certainly not be in, with two people making the judgement calls and us stuck there in the middle, helpless.

Then all at once, salvation appeared in the doorway...Baboo. The sooty coal seller came in through that doorway with two crabs , the head of a yahoo and a large taro root which he had come by, in some way or another.

So Holymagiman took over the cooking, Mrs Kawachika went sulking off to bed, the crabs and fish and large taro root all went into the pot, the carrot soup remained carrot soup no more, and we repasted in splendour on something new and vigorous..

And thoughts of that meal were brought back to me as I read the quarterly report of Orion.

Just like Mr and Mrs Kawachika, OIP and GGX are in a sort of a strange relationship.

And the shareholders have been called to sup on the thin carrot soup.

But I couldn’t help but mull over proceedings when I read the following in the quarterly activity report:

“On 15 October, Orion and another junior ASX-listed oil & gas company, Gas2Grid Limited (GGX), jointly announced that they have entered into negotiations in relation to a POSSIBLE change of control transaction.

“The boards of Orion and Gas2Grid note that negotiations are at a PRELIMINARY STAGE AND INCOMPLETE.

“Both boards are in discussions as to the structure and PRICING of the transaction, amongst other things.”

So it seems to me that the carrot soup could indeed become something so much better, and that Mrs Kawachika will again have to retire to her bedroom in tears, especially if the drilling and results of PEL 6 come out before the preliminary negotiations go very much further, and if the, farmout packages for conventional oil and gas prospects in PEL 6 (Toenda) and PEL 471 (Rigel) are finalised beforehand.

Then the pricing will surely have to change and the carrot soup must surely metamorphose, much like a butterfly from a caterpiller.

For it would seem to me that eastern Star and Ingalls are smarter than to be sold a pig in a poke.

But stranger things have happened, and stranger things will happen and who is to know when, why or wherefor

But these are but random thoughts on a rainy morning from one who should know better, and thankfully, it does look like this inclement weather is finally clearing.

So i leave you now with the blessing of the Lord
