    thoughtful indeed

"Apparently, Americans regard sexual infidelity as far more serious than invading countries on the basis of false charges and deception"

that is a bit of a twisted induction

after reading the paragraph prior to that, it would be fairer to say that "Apparently, people in charge of certain American Corporations think that most Americans regard sexual infidelity as far more serious than invading countries on the basis of false charges and deception"

but besides that, i agree that the current materailistic mindset, generally speaking, is a pitiful state of affairs.
but as well as pointing the finger at materialistic american society, can't we also examine how the production of the things that may surround us is the consequence of quite immoral processes that have resulted in much suffering of othere beings?

the world is seriously shrinking and it is becomming quite evident that, to the degree we part of any process that expoits someone elses unfortunate circumstances, we are actually creating, proportional or even exponential, misery for ourselves.

cultivating such qualities as abstinance, altruism, tolerance, empathy etc, has a similar mathematical relationship, except instead of misery, we get happiness.
real strength doesn't come from being a dictator and/or surrounding oneself with stuff.
that is a life built on fear
i think that hatred is a consequnce of fear.

anyway isn't tiger woods sponsored by the likes of nike, who don't exactly have a squeeky clean record with regards to sweatshop labour, which is, in essence "invading countries on the basis of false charges and deception"?

let's make this new year a happier year for all.
