FBR - Failure to Launch
It was a very promising technology. Pivacs won numerous awards in the early days. BW and large institutional investors have contributed millions into FBR. The West Australian government also threw their weight behind the project. However, nothing came of it. FBR failed to turn a brilliant idea into action. Although working factory prototypes were built. It suffered numerous technical difficulties and delays. Pivacs had no idea of the amount of development work involved to turn it into a commercially viable product. Although Hx never made it into a production, it made Pivacs very rich.
