I am surprised that the SP is not going up rapidly on this news.
I see there are less than 500 million shares....so for every $5 million in compensation the Govt offers the value of each share increases by 1 cent.
Should MEL successfully negotiate $100 million each share value will increase by 20 cents.
This is a long way from the current 6.5 cents.
The Govt is in a difficult position and whether they settle with MEL or allow the drilling to proceed the SP should rise quickly.
