IMO the nickel (Touro and Conceicao) is a waste of time and money. With respect to Conceicao,both Xstrata and Tech Cominco have worked this licence and passed on it.
The 3 nickel deposits of any significance in the Carajas (Onca-Puma,Jacare and Vermelho) are laterite not sulphide.
And AVB have already elected not to continue with Guapore last year.
IMO AVB are onto a good thing (ie Company Maker ) with the copper.
If they are indeed serious with the strategy outlined by Polglase,then they need to get a mine up and running asap,gain some credibility with the authorities and Majors in the Carajas, and then wrangle some promising projects from the Majors under the "use it or lose it" criteria.
IMO, AVB need to decide whether or not they want to be a miner (Polglase) or a "Prospect Generator" (Wood)
Money to be made either way!!
