Robust Resources hits world-class high grade gold intersection in Indonesia by Proactive Investors
Indonesian explorer Robust Resources (ASX: ROL) has unveiled a world class high grade gold intersection at the Romang Island Project, Indonesia.
In its best drilling result to date, assay results returned from drill hole LWD 051 at the Batu Mas prospect within the Lakuwahi Project returned:
- 53.5 metres at 5.62 g/t Au from 1.5 metres including: 22 metres at 9.36 g/t Au equivalent from 3 metres.
Put in perspective, the intersection is equivalent in gold content to a mineralised body of 10 metres thick at a grade of almost 1 troy ounce per tonne of gold.
Gary Lewis, managing director of Robust believes the gold zone in LWD 051 correlates well with previous near-surface intersections at Batu Mas, which can be exploited via low-cost, open cut mining and a low waste to ore ratio.
"Results from the current drill program at Batu Mas are incredibly encouraging, further supporting and extending our previous near-surface results," he said.
"The high grades identified, in particular at Hole LWD 051, underpin the company’s belief that Romang Island has the potential to host significant gold ore bodies."

Drilling is continuing at Lakuwahi with 3 owner-operated rigs having drilled a total of 4,172 metres. To date, drilling has tested less than 1% of the Lakuwahi Caldera target zone.
