It might be of interest although have not checked and can't find the article again but was from yahoo finance ?
Basically saying that it's normal for the top end of town [large caps] to get hit in the new year as the money cycles into small caps .
Worth checking your charts to see if the small oilers perform at any particular time of the year and if a pattern exists .
