Chinova is a private Chinese owned company and brought all the assets off Ivanhoe Australia which included the Osborne Mine, haul roads, rail loadout at Phosphate Hill, Kulthor underground project and also including the entire Selwyn Mine package (including Mt Dore, Mt Elliot, Starra 244, 257 and 276 deposits - the sulphide mill at Selwyn demolished in 2008 I think) which includes Merlin. All the Osborne assets were owned by Placer -> Barrick -> then sold to Ivanhoe -> Chinova

Chinova have recently operated the Osborne Mill by trucking ore from the Selwyn Starra 257, 276 and other open pits in the area including a cutback at the Osborne open pit itself.

Merlin was discovered and drilled out by Ivanhoe Australia and Chinova even did underground development to access the orebody but then all work ceased at Merlin for reasons I still can't fully understand, presumably because of Mo prices and the existing sulfide mill at Osborne need a large capital investment to convert it to Mo & Rh recovery? and there were still copper gold sulfide orebodies around that would be displaced and orphaned by converting the mill at Osborne for Mo & Rh recovery.

Chinova are sitting on a lot of large low grade Cu and Au resources in the region but only one mill at Osborne, Merlin Mo Rh is among a number of stranded assets in the area due to mill/capital constraints.
