In 2019 the current AIC Mines began as a merger between Intrepid Mines and AIC Resources.
Back in the early 2010s Intrepid was in JV with an Indonesian company in developing the large TB copper-gold mine when the JV company seized Intrepid's assets in Indonesia and sold off Intrepid's stake in the project. The Indonesian government sat back and allowed it to happen. A few major explorers wound up their exploration efforts in Indonesia as a result.
The lesson from all of this is if you have shares in explorers / miners in third world countries you are taking on another layer of risk (a large one).
