Glencore is trying to get Oz and QLD governments to pay for the smelter reline. Today's AFR puts the cost at $75m.
They might get it.
A1M can export concentrate through Townsville or send to the Mt Isa smelter. I have no idea on relative value to A1M, though it would be of lesser consequence to the company than to the national interest.
