Facebook likes can be easily purchased for a few dollars, so don't put too much stock into those. Tony Abbott got caught out buying tens of thousands around the last election.
Not saying they aren't real, but that's not a very accurate metric for anything really.
Relevant anecdote though, the milk seems to sell out at my local woolies, a month or so ago it was barely touched in comparison.
