Nikec the problem with I have with these posts that say IF may cause cancer is that 99.99% of people know that you can google pretty much any product and there will be an article saying it is bad for you or causes cancer, we get one of these posts almost daily. You can also just as easily find another article saying the opposite. It's the internet. Unless you are a hypochondriac most people are not going to pay any attention to it. If it was true then you will get overwhelming support from the scientific community like on the hazards of smoking or alcohol.

Infant formula is not a new product and you would have seen results by now. I'm sure if a new parent asked their doctor/nurse/specialist about it, you would find it almost impossible to find one that said no it will cause cancer. I think the general consensus is that breastfeeding is best but in today's society, with mothers returning to the workforce etc, it is a necessity of our lifestyles. I personally don't know any parent that hasn't used it at sometime. If I can find pages of articles on the effects that breast feeding may cause cancer with a quick google search does anyone really think that mothers will stop breast feeding? Of course not.

I suppose it is the same as mobile phones causing cancer. The vast majority of us have one and yet if I posted some random article from the internet on the Telstra thread about how they cause cancer do you think they would take me seriously? I don't think anyone would feel it would effect sales and that is exactly the same way as I feel about infant formula. IMO, even forgetting about the current boom, there will always be a demand for it.

As far as not wanting to hear bad news I feel just the opposite. Bad news is even more important to me as good news and that is why I always question people on their thought process. We had a great post from Randomk last night and although we have slightly different forecasts I think it was a brilliant post as it gave insight to his reasoning.

If anything I am more conservative than the vast majority on this forum and I argue with people who think it will be $1 next month as much as I do with people who say it will be $3. If people have a different opinion that is fine, in fact good, but IMO I can't take these causing cancer posts even remotely seriously. It is like someone telling me the world will end tomorrow. Possibility of it happening? Yes. Probability? Bugger all. If I offended then I apologise but we get trolled often.

For what it's worth, even though I think it matters little, I bought before the Dec announcement and further in the mid $1.50's recently as I feel it will go up again soon (discussed why in previous posts). Not perfect timing but I'm still happy with this stock, for those that bought earlier you have my congratulations but even if you don't own these shares you can still research it and have an opinion. I'll listen to any reasonable argument.
