US Based Munchkin were going after exclusive "grass fed" registration (ie grass only no barns or grains).
Synlait had invested quite heavily in the process but for some reason Munchkin pulled the plug. Registration for their infant product was going to be a very onerous process. I recall they pulled the plug part way through clinical trials.
It does give an indication of how difficult it is to get infant formula registered - something A2 wil be aware of.
And given Abbots problems I can't see the US being too keen to fast track approvals if there is any risk to this consumer demographic.
