Interesting. They deal out some pretty long sentences over there. He did help them out a bit with the prosecution case though, could probably have just stonewalled and stayed in a "no extradition" jurisdiction.
Hard to tell if that makes them more or less likely to sell. Maybe in the lead up, but it could be a bit harder during any time that he was actually incarcerated.
