Hard to believe it is something that they would support but are likely under huge pressure from state and federal gov. If building the port is blocked, which is probably unlikely over the long term it would make it tough for bnd to move ahead with its south Gailee project but would be a much larger hit for Clive and Rina with their mega mines. Possibly a plus for coal prices and springsure as an investment opportunity as it would take 80 mtpa plus out of the supply chain.

In reality, think the port will go ahead but there will be lots of protests and ensuring delays.
