Quite agree. In other forums I have been on about this plus the incredible stupidity and cowardice of Abbott's first budget. Howard left us with no infrastructure worth talking about. His was the time to waterproof Australia, initiate the transport hubs and associated infrastructure, in develop a massive future research and innovation culture. Instead he further strengthened the welfare mentality by grooming the middle class to accept, as a right, many different handouts. The man should have been, and stayed, a suburban lawyer handling conveyancing and drafting wills.
