Don't any of you give a passing thought to the psychology of the players in this drama? We have brand new Senators that did NOT campaign on an anti-Abbott platform. Could they fund another election so soon when they have not recouped the costs of the last? How do they know that half their supporter base would not reject them for creating chaos? Why would they commit ritual hari-kari over a non-issue for them?

Elections 101: The electorate hates elections. They hate the endless waffle thrown at them on the assumption that they have the development age of a primary schooler. Why are they going to feel kindly towards d'heads who forced them to endure it unnecessarily?

I've asked half a dozen times already but why do you assume that the rag-tag PUPs will vote the way Clive tells them too? What can he do if they don't? Clive can't sack them any more than the libs could sack Slipper.
