1. The low prices that the big 2 retailers force on our producers making farming hard to turn a dollar. 2. Strengthening anti dumping laws 3. Trade concerns against countries that subsidise their industries. 4. Support and loan issues (inc. repossession) during hard times 5. The impact of "Greenie" laws that impact their ability to turn a dollar.
So I can understand to some degree that the NBN would be nice - but I would have thought that the independents have larger issues.
Does FTTH as opposed to FTTN (with maybe a few more 'N's) really help them?
