Lapdog your memory has certainly deteriorated if you really believe that the Whitlam years were years of unbounded joy for the electorate. Unfortunately for him, most of the electorate had enough sense to see him for what he was; an arrogant spendethon nobody whom the electorate couldn't wait to see him kicked out of Office forever.And that's what it did.
And Jim Cairns will forever be classed as a lying villain for denying his liaison with Julie Morosi, and receiving an undeserved compensation thereof. It was only much later in life that he admitted he had lied.So much for your hero.
