Well if you want to go in the other direction, a former co-worker of mine used to be an assistant manager in a child care centre for a large child care group. She revealed that the staff were not allowed to say the word "no" to the children. Apparently this was considered too negative and not good for the child's self-esteem. A "positive" alternative or suggestion was to be offered to the child instead.
Anyway, she left because a portion of the children and their parents were so rude and abusive that it wasn't worth the stress of it all.
