Why then is Abbott persisting with one of the biggest barnacles of all, constitutional recognition of one class of people to the exclusion of all others.

I do not see it has any possible chance of being passed in a referendum as it will constitute a form of apartheid, when surely the goal in an egalitarian Australia is to promote unification and assimilation.

It seems to me that even after Sir Prince Phillip and the near death experience, Abbott still does not get it. He has a tin ear. The priority is [1] the economy [2] the economy and [3] the economy.

He has zero chance of convincing Coalition supporters this is a mainstream issue.\ let alone get support for it.

Strange how it is okay for our governments to be racists.

Imagine if anyone else but the government promoted racial discrimination.

This idea that Aboriginals of today have any more rights than anyone else born here is absolutely ridiculous.

As moondoong said, "nation united not divided".
