If the Libs and Labor each get 73 seats Abbott needs the support of the 3 "national" independents to form a stable Government.
OK - the main stumbling block is the NBN - as Abbott cant spend that sort of money - keep his promises and return to surplus in 3 years. So how about a deal where by he shelves his own version and saves the funds ("X") - presumedly this would have the effect of returning to surplus in 3 years minus ("X") . He then promises to roll out the same NBA as the labor envisaged (but properly managed) commencing in that ("X") period I mentioned (Before the 3 years is up.) He can then go to the next election with the vote winner underway. All are happy!
