cashincline, most polls ask leading questions and are bias, but you cannot pretend that a negative poll against Abbott is not valid without applying the same rule to a poll that is negative against Gillard.
The performance of this government does not automatically change Abbott's status, he will be judged for who he is and not by who someone else is.
Just because someone is worse or better than someone, does not change who or what they are.
