abbott backpedals on budget surplus, page-3

Gotta love a good labor lie.

When spending is growing annually at 10% and revenue is slowing promising a surplus would be the height of irresponsibility.

Just by freezing spending the coalition government will cause economic activity to slow down. It's a nasty catch 22.

I expect the incoming coalition governments to have elicits for the next two years until labors waste is brought under control and real investment is encouraged again.

I think they should concentrate on cutting green and red tape and removing these bureaucratic edifices that plague business these days like fair work Australia and the department of lands. There is a ton of unpopular decisions to be made in the next year but at least I can see Abbott and hockey doing it.

I personally think they should chuck out capital gains taxes, it's a small area of receipts for the tax department and an area of huge complexity to administer.
