Abbott backs closure of remote communities

In a statement of the self evident Tony Abbott has said that people living in remote communities are choosing a life style, and there is a limit as to what resources a government can provide to them there.

Although the linked article does not report it, both Labor and the Silly Greens are demanding an apology.

As a matter of interest this is hardly a new concept. Ten years ago Amanda Vanstone also stated the obvious very clearly.

Today on News Radio I heard people at the commission against family violence telling us that there are very few places where people (mainly women I assume)  being assaulted by family members in outback communities can go for assistance. This problem requires additional funding - apparently.
