Re the title of this thread, based on past practice Tony Abbott has more than just one option. He could:

a. Say 'NO!'

b. Keep very quiet & nod a fair bit.

c. Stop the boats at Nauru.

d. Rescind it when he becomes PM.

e. Claim credit for it as part of the Northern Territory intervention.

f. Blame it on Julia Gillard's great big new taxes.

g. Speak to the matter at a Conservative Convention in London.

h. Announce that policy before the next election.
