    "A couple of months ago, after a long interview with the outgoing President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, I had lunch with one of the most senior officials in Indonesia.

    Indonesia was delighted with the way Abbott’s boats policy had worked out, he told me, but he couldn’t say so publicly. The reason he was delighted was because nobody in Indonesia talked about the boats now.

    That happy state of affairs certainly won’t be allowed to continue if Fairfax, the ABC and the Labor opposition have anything to do with it."
