Abbott;s morning.
5am wake up call
50 push-ups: “I’m often criticised for my push-ups, not going down far enough.”
60 seconds plank: “I try to hang here for a minute or so.”
15 sit-ups: “The trick is to try not to move the legs too much.”
45-50 minutes cardio: Usually a run or bike ride featuring lots of hills.
Usual breakfast: Boiled eggs or bacon and eggs
PM’S WAKE UP CALL
THE sun is just rising over Sydney Harbour as Tony Abbott greets me at Kirribilli House, and the PM is already sweaty.
He’s been for a bike-ride, even though he knows we’re planning to have a run together, along with his daughter Bridget.
It’s a bit of pre-exercise exercise, for a Prime Minister who treats working out as a non-negotiable.
“I knew the run was going to get a bit interrupted,” Abbott says almost apologetically — he’s referring to the photos and video we captured along the way.
