I don't seek to level criticism at a particular person or persons the following stats tell a very different story.

First preference Vote.

Zali Steggall

Vote:43.9% 37,303+43.9%

Tony Abbott (MP)Vote:39.6% 33,644-12.1%.

Now let's look at the Preference count.

Independent Zali Steggall Vote:57.0% 48,469+18.1%

Liberal PartyTony Abbott (MP)Vote:43.0%36,547-18.1%.

Can you see what I'm getting at?

Overall what I'm trying to point out is that the theory that Abbott was very popular in Warringah was a total nonsense.
