So what would your risk assessment have been on the hotels full of quarantined people? And compare the risk of infection spreading say compared to fishing, golfing, walking in national parks. What would have been your priority?
Face masks advice has been in constant flux in every country and even the WHO. It wasn't too long ago Andrews was saying if you are healthy and wear a fask mace then you are wasting that mask. Advice apparently from his CMO and cohort. Considering data clearly shows the chance of catching covid outside is significantly less than catching it inside a building or bus etc, should masks be compulsory when outside and practicing safe distance?
My guess for this wave of infection. It originated at the quarantined hotels from the guests to the guards. Guards went home, many to large families and where religious celebrations were common. These families had workers, now carrying the infection, at aged care facilities and other industries where larger number of people gathered. Some children in these families would also have caught it and spread it at their school but that appears not to be as common as the adult spreaders. From there you get community transmissions.
