Of course everyone would prefer to handle difficult issues in private. Didn't stop Abbott complaining about anything and everything - even things that aligned with traditional Liberal policy when Labor were in power.
To whinge that they need privacy now is just one of many attempts at deflection and hypocritical to the max.
The embarrassing thing is how stuck in the mud the Lib mindset is. Just like their mantra of stop the boats, all they can stammer is the same ol', same ol'. But Abbott's never been able to negotiate.
