    Re your post which included;
    "... the polls say that Gillard and the ALP is on the nose,i dont know where you get your figures from ..."
    "... the Chinese gave him the red carpet treatment ..."

    The polls do indeed say that Julia Gillard & the ALP are on the nose.

    The latest Newspoll data also shows that Tony Abbott's satisfaction rating has fallen to a record low of just 30% while his disapproval rating is at 61%.

    That is in stark contrast to the Coalition's 56% 2PP vote!

    In my original post on this thread I quoted from the Age report on how well Abbott was treated by the Chinese. The point is that he didn't return the favour; but aka his treatement of Barrrack Obama when he addressed our Parliament Abbott just had to loosen his lips & score cheap political points!

    It now seems that even his state Liberal colleagues are distancing themselves over Abbott's stance toward China; according to The Australian's Ben Packham:

    "CONSERVATIVE premiers have urged greater Chinese investment in their states, a day after Tony Abbott declared state-owned Chinese companies should not control Australian businesses. ..."
