Abbot did as well as I expected. He had his mantra and he repeated it past the point of nausea. He had decided that BHP shelved Olympic Dam expansion because of adverse government taxes and it didn't matter that he was wrong.

I expected Tony Abbott to lie and well, that is exactly what he did.

BHP already has a profitable, efficient operation at Olympic Dam. Shelving expansion plans means they can continue making money with what they are doing now.
