IMO Tony Abbott becoming PM of Australia was always about a sense of entitlement fueled by a born to rule mindset. Well in what appears to be a final coup-de-disgrace, the Queen refused his request to meet her in London recently:

"... Mr Abbott, Australia's most famous monarchist and a former executive director of Australians for Constitutional Monarchy, was told that the Queen's schedule would not permit a meeting although she was in London at the time. ..."

IMO reports that Malcolm Turnbull even described Abbott as a psychopath and that today his wife's comments to friends reveal just how poorly he has handled being sacked by 54 Liberal Party MPs, attests to his self-delusion and sense of rejection:

"... Turnbull commonly told colleagues that Abbott's capacity for self-delusion, his lack of comprehension for the feelings of those around him, showed that he was "basically a psychopath". ..."

"... Margie Abbott has told friends her husband is shattered by the loss of the prime ministership, predicting grimly that his pain will last a lifetime. Of all the understandable emotions including grief, regret, and, presumably something akin to guilt, that Margie has revealed, it was his betrayal by close colleagues that has cut the dumped leader the deepest. ..."

I doubt those people Abbott targeted with his grossly unfair 2014 Budget will have much sympathy with what appears to be sour grapes and self-pity from a man who demanded their trust and proceeded to betray it.
