some comment (company?) rep. this morning saying that "Abbott refusing to help us - hey?????) turned out to be the best outcome for us -

(so, this was Abbott's fault - again - poor man must be nearly ground into the turf with the weight of things which are all suddenly HIS fault! - how does he get out of bead, at all - in the morning) -

no - for one thing, Aussies, starting to wake up more and more to the scourge of imported food everythings - started to buy up on SPC products again (let's hope this patriotic fervour lasts!) - and. more important still, I wager, Coca Cola Amatil decided to let the moths out of it's hugely substantial wallet! (What, scared of brand image backlash, perhaps?)

Now, "The Government" could fork out rescue monies for many of the good small businesses I saw struggling over the years - good businesses basically, but small, and privately owned - many of which may have survived and thrived, with some capital injection help.

But where does any Government draw the line with such proposed largesse? And this is taxpayer monies being dished out?

Unions don't care - but quick to yell and scream, if it's their jobs threatened. Sacked management - they couldn't care less. But they abuse and insult the Government, for not "saving" these big businesses. We could ask - what moves did the Unions make - to compromise - help save these companies? No, they always want gimees - and more, more, more. It's always "The Government's Fault!" When big business becomes unviable.

(No such crocodile tears when so many small businesses hit the wall. They don't have Union member employees!)

Anyone who goes into business, large, medium, or small - has NO garuantee that it's necessarily going to always going to succeed. It's a gamble - some pay off - and provide some, or many, jobs. Others so not succeed - and therefore, sadly, jobs gone.

ANY Government is not elected to spend taxpayer monies, endlessly, on bailing out businesses in strife. Setting a very dangerous precedent - of "why them - and not US!".

Engendering huge social unrest and resentment. Governments, whatever the color, are not elected into the banking business - are not a private commerce high finance source.

My budgie keeps falling off it's perch. Of course, it's Abbott's fault!

As he and his Government have now surged ahead in the polls - they must be doing something right. Abbott beating Shorten, hands down.
