is looking at Australia
the wrong way around

rather like the Police
they are there to catch the person who breaks the law
when they should be there to stop people breaking the law

nice example
traffic speeding fines
that come 10 days AFTER you have broken the law
where as if someone was stopped from breaking the law all
they saw the police standing there they would slow down... etc

and back to tax matters
forget the income stream for governments
the problem
the ONLY problem is the spending

all governments over spend and have an endless thirst for more income/tax
because this always employs more public servants
which allows the old public servant to more up to the next pay level

which allow, etc them to retire on an higher income

reduce the public service
reduce the government spending
then
look at reducing the tax collected to feed the endless thirsty monster called the public service

the Queenland Governments have started the reducing
and the public service are crying
and as result the Unions are crying
because there are less public servants
who are in the Union
and this
means less income for the Unions
and this
means less income for Labor

BUT NOW
the government
can start to pay back the thumping giant debt left by
LABOR
