    Lapdog, if the polls stay as they are and/or get worse Abbott will get asked to step down for the good of the party.

    If Abbott will not go quietly Lib's will dump him, being in opposition is still fresh in the minds of liberal MP's and I doubt they will risk being dumped at the next election.

    Abbott is well aware of the polls and is on record saying "Any politician that says they don't take notice of the polls is lying" So we know that the cabinet reshuffle, resets and back flips on policies have been done to adress the poor polling.

    At best Abbott has until latter this year to turn the polls around but I expect backbenchers are getting nervous and will be wanting him to step down well before that
