watso cannot be bothered to double check - but a labor party policy for the 2004 election (well, the one where latham was "the man") - had some policy called medicare gold (???) - and gillard could have been the architect (she could have been the lab health spokesperson) - watso seems to recall that it had something to do with old people getting serviced in the private hospital system.
that would have cost a fortune.
the reality is, that when people are old, that is the end of their life. at the age of 70, people should be given the option to "self destruct" - and a simple "injection" will do the job.. ok - if a person is healthy - then the option is not there - but when the outlook is for continuous hospitalization, then it should be an option. keeping people alive, for the sake of keeping them alive, is a waste of time.
ok - watso's a few years ago, watso's (then) 83 year old mother (and when she still had a few marbles) commented that she wished that it was all finished - well, she is still alive - but she has no idea, of what is happening..
