the price difference between building the submarines in Australia and building them in Japan was known before the election.
So why did Abbott promise to build the boats in Australia before the election?

At the election on many occasions he said there would be NO TAX INCREASES OR CUTS IN WELFARE, PENSIONS HEALTH ,EDUCATION.

A unity ticket on Gonsky and NDIS.

All the Liberals needed to do was cut already identified labor waste and the budget would drift back into surplus.

Abbott lied to the Australian people.

Before the election he told the Australian people there was a budget emergency and that he would reduce the deficit.Yet the first actions by Hockey as treasurer was to increase the deficit by 50% as a cynical and political tactic.
The long term effects on the budget by this cynical and political move was to blow future forecasts out by some 30 to 40% which they then attributed wholly to the labor party.

Before the election Abbott said he would lead a "NO SURPRISES' Government as he believed people were sick of Governments who changed policies after they won elections.

Yet in Government he changes many policies he promised at the last election.

Abbott lied to the Australian people.
