Turnbull's poor popularity when he was opposition leader was the catalyst for change. Since then his crossing the floor on carbon taxes was the final nail for any comeback. They won't have him. Being ex-ceo of Goldman Sachs - who basically own the future of carbon trading globally - places doubts in many minds as to motives for such actions. Labor of course want to keep raising the Turnbull issue but it doesn't matter.
