Keating, and to a lesser extent, Hawke, singlehandedly trashed our political debate with oozing invective,the like of which never existed before; and cowed the media, allowing the Barrie Cassidys of the country to rise to the top.
In the process, Labor's "untouchable us" culture bloomed, or perhaps festered is more accurate. 25-30 years of being hollowed out from the inside. You reap what you sow. Now there's just a dried out husk.
