Sure Abbott would rather not be quoted on slapping kids given every nutter in the world will take it out of context. A lot of children are out of control and can't be deciplined. Baby boomers let kids do what ever they want. Teachers can't do anything. It's now so completely out of control in our schools that teachers are not allowed to use the word 'no'. How stupid is that. Who thought of that. Why would we want to send our kids into the real world with such a false believe? Idiots, that's who. Kids can do little things around the house and be taught to be productive and not lazy from a young age. I think all this nanny state stuff is a massive problem. It's causing major social issues that no one will take responsibility for. There is a big difference from deciplining a child to being out right violent. Clearly Abbott is not suggesting your version or interpretation of his statement.
