"he tried to restrict access to taxpayer-supported IVF for older women. ..." I'd Like to hear your position on this Lappy. Should taxpayers be funding IVF for "mature" women considering the success rate & health consequences? At what age do you recommend taxpayers stop funding this treatment?
From http://www.hfea.gov.uk/ivf-success-rate.html - IVF Success Rate vs Woman's Age 32.3% for women aged under 35 27.2% for women aged between 35–37 19.2% for women aged between 38–39 12.7% for women aged between 40–42 5.1% for women aged between 43–44 1.5% for women aged 45 and over
Abbott would have been neglectful in his duties as Health Minister not to put an age restriction on this funding.
I find your comments overly sexist - implying a Health Minister should not form policy because he is of the opposite sex.
