As someone who lived through WW2 you should be aware of their enduring aftermaths. How does your memory of the Vietnam War serve you or is that too painful as well?

The illegal war against the people of Iraq to which John Howard committed Australia has morphed into a hell on earth civil and regional war that even Saddam Hussein warned about.

Hundreds of thousands of civilians are dead and millions scarred by the impact of that war. The situation in Afghanistan isn't much better and may also unravel badly as allied forces withdraw.

That destabilisation has caused 46 million and counting people to be displaced throughout the Middle East, the Indian Sub-continent and Northern Africa.

Small surprise that the realities of 90% of asylum seekers doesn't match Tony Abbott's deceptive and insulting 'Stop the boats' slogan and spin.

To ignore that current hell hole on Earth and the plight of millions of people would be inhumane and a denial of natural justice.
