Reds under the bed no less. Resorting to the Communist bogey that Robert Menzies and Bob Santamaria duped so many people for so long after the Korean War and until the myth was exploded in the Vietnam War.

Well not even China and Russia represent the Communist bogey any more. Only those mentored by the likes of Bob Santamaria could still see credibility in such mantras [now who was that I wonder?].

You do appear to recognise however that stagnant retail sales presents a challenge to consumer societies such as Australia - something Kevin Rudd realised way back in mid 2008; prompting those $900 solvency refunds.

Australians remain nervous about all the global doom and gloom and the private debt hangovers they accrued during the Howard Years. They are sick of the negativity and are now seeking answers from our pollies as to the future direction Australia will pursue.

Kevin Rudd is out there showing the way with a fair dinkum NBN and better education systems, much to the irritation of the hostile Murdoch media. Meanwhile Tony Abbott is still chucking mud, planning more welfare for the wealthy and refusing even to submit what little he has documented for costing by Treasury.
