    Personally I'm for the PPL scheme. It's about time that we recognised that having a parent at home for the first 6 months benefits the children, and thus everyone in the long run.

    Of course, like with most othet taxes on business, we will be paying for it in the long run through higher prices. I guess the lower company tax might offset this a bit.

    However, I would have though the cap of $150,000 was pretty high. Should have been more like half that IMO. A lot of it will just be more middle-class welfare.

    As far as other policies go, I'd like to now how Abbott rationalises claiming to create more jobs while sacking public servants. A recent poll which asked whether services should be cut in favour of lowering the deficit got a 60% NO response.
