Tony Abbott was a core member of the Howard governments that backed military intervention in Iraq and Afghanistan. What a huge success they have been; the entire Middle East has been de-stabilised and problems have spread to the Indian Sub-continent and to Northern Africa.

In case you missed it; we have 46 million asylum seekers and refugees; in no small way as a direct consequence of those heavy-handed, illegal and ill-conceived vindictive military interventions.

But Tony Abbott was also party to that ill-conceived electoral stunt known as military intervention into aboriginal communities. And oh boy what a roaring success that's been.

But hey, there's more!

Now Abbott is proposing military intervention into our immigration and border protection operations. All of our problems will be solved because a 3 star general will take charge of operational matters and report to Scott Morrison:

So there we have it; when push comes to shove and the heat is on sweet little Tony Abbott, he'll resort to military solutions.

Then again, now that he has insulted Malaysia, Indonesia, Nauru, PNG, China and the USA [not to mention all the asylum seeker source countries] where else could he realistically turn to 'stop the boats'.

When Abbott's latest real military solution goes belly up as per the Coalition's invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan and the its invasive approach to Aborigines; I wonder who he'll blame next.
